Fair weather, super volunteers, good food and teams of golfers eager to support the Good Shepherd Community made our 23rd annual golf tournament fundraiser a day of joy and success!

Golfers arrived in time for a bag lunch before the shotgun start at noon.  Specialty brats were grilled and served on the course.  While they navigated the beautiful and challenging Territory Golf Club just east of St. Cloud, they had a chance to win a car, trips, and other fabulous prizes for a hole-in-one.  Sadly, no-one took advantage of the opportunity.  Golfers also used their luck and skill to win prizes in driving, chipping and putting contests.  After a hot day on the course, the club house banquet room was a cool place to refresh, enjoy a buffet dinner, buy a few raffle tickets and bid on silent auction items.  First place in the scramble went to "The Citizen" team (a Sherburne County newspaper).  Second place went to Gray, Plant Mooty PA, and third place trophy winners were the Riverside Presbyterian Church.

Most importantly, we raised over $30,000 to help the Good Shepherd Community meet its ministry of healthcare and housing services for older adults in Central Minnesota.  We are very grateful to Master's level sponsors Miller Architects and Builders, MCI/Carpet One and Piper-Jaffray.  Thanks also goes to our 2008 Honorary Chair Brian Poepping and to our Golf Tournament Committee members-Len Wohlman (chair), Stuart Bailey, Ron Brandenburg, Jerry Stover, Will Steinke and Don Welker.
