Good Shepherd Receives State Award

St. Paul - Good Shepherd Community of Sauk Rapids has been honored by Minnesota's largest association of aging services organizations.

Good Shepherd was recognized with an Excellence in Practice Award in Technology for Excellence at the Aging Services of Minnesota Institute in Minneapolis in February. The Institute is the state's premiere event for professionals in older adult services.

Good Shepherd Community upgraded its entire technology system. The process took two years of planning and commitment from its entire team.

The results include 25 percent time savings in completing payroll, seamless billing and accuracy, efficient and consistent staff training for in-service requirements, a hack-proof health information system and a 75 percent reduction in charting and assessment time.

The project was a full $5,000 under budget. Those who worked on the endeavor said care givers are now freed up to spend much more time with the residents resulting in a significant increase in resident satisfaction.

Aging Services' 1,000 + members serve over 100,000 Minnesotans each year in settings across the continuum from their home to congregate housing to assisted living to care centers. Committed to excellence and to innovation, Aging Services is a leader in pioneering new service delivery models and is nationally recognized for expertise in Aging Services issues related to long term care, senior housing and supportive services.
